Here, we believe that anyone can enjoy movement and have fun at the same time. Let’s democratize fitness.
Here, we believe in honoring yoga’s roots in South Asia and see yoga as more than just a workout. Asana (poses) are one part of the yoga puzzle.
Aetheria (uh-theory-ahh) Movement is a virtual yoga and movement space where you can train privately, join a group class, or watch a recording on-demand.
Aetheria Movement embraces adventure, authenticity, physical movement, breath, and our connections to each other.
Come move with us!
We believe that movement is:
-
fun and joyful!
Each of us has something(s) that lights our fire. It may be vinyasa yoga, suspension training, barre, HIIT, dancing, swimming or being out in nature hiking or biking. We also believe that kindness is queen. No yelling or commanding here - we believe you can reach goals and achieve new milestones without all of that, so we make our group classes and personalized offerings a place you want to be - supportive, loving, fun, and joyful.
-
not just for the privileged few.
It is for any of us and all of us! It doesn’t require deep pockets, a certain body, or a specific zip code. This is why we price our classes fairly and offer a weekly “pay what you can, if you can” yoga class.
-
specific to you, as you are the expert on your body.
Our group classes are all levels, with plenty of ways to modify and adjust for your needs and how you’re feeling today. We also know that certain things that may fire you up, may make someone else cringe, so we offer a variety of classes. We also know that some people prefer 1:1 attention, so offer personal training and private yoga where you are the guide of your goals.
What’s in a name?
Inspiration for the name came from a visit to the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain in the summer of 2018. Portuguese artist & activist Joana Vasconcelos’ installation art piece made of cloth and other felt materials snaked in, up and around the verticality of the museum’s central lobby. Her inspiration? A woman named Aetheria.
Who was Aetheria?
One of the oldest known solo female travelers. She documented her journey across Spain, the Middle East and North Africa in the 4th Century AD.
